Privacy Policy
davenn.com is a small collection of independent utilities. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and how you can have it removed.
Update notifications
If you sign up on the Text & Email Updates page to be notified about new apps and features, we store the phone number or email address you submit, along with an unsubscribe token. That's it — no name, no account required.
We use this only to send you a text or email when something new ships on davenn.com. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell or rent this information, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are passed to our messaging carrier solely to deliver the messages you asked for. We don't send marketing for anything other than davenn.com itself.
You can unsubscribe at any time — every text includes reply-STOP instructions, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking that link removes your contact info immediately.
Individual apps
Some apps on this site store additional data needed for that app to function:
- Toolshare — an account (username, hashed password, display name, email), any tools you list (including photos you upload), and borrow-request messages between friends.
- Flight Tracker — an account (username, hashed password, display name) and the flight log entries you add.
- Leaderboards (Meeting Cost Timer, Track Timer, Reaction Test, Face Breaker, Daily Tasks) — the name or title you type in when saving a result, plus the score/time itself. No account or contact info is required to appear on a leaderboard.
- Confidence Pool — the name written on or entered with each pick sheet, and the picks and confidence points read from it. The sheet photo itself is never stored. It is read once to extract the picks and discarded when that request finishes — there is no copy on our server to retain, expire, or hand over. If you send a sheet by text, we store the phone number it came from so the sheet can be filed against the right person and replied to. Everyone in the pool can see every entered sheet and can delete one.
- WildcatsXC — meets you save (name, date, course) and the results read from them: each runner's name, school, grade, place and time. Results are shared by the team's coaches and can only be viewed or changed by someone who enters the team PIN. When a wrong PIN is entered, the IP address it came from is kept for one day to limit guessing. Results PDFs are never stored — they are read once and discarded when that request finishes. Deleting a meet in the app removes its results, and any runner left with no results is removed with it.
- Glucose — continuous glucose readings uploaded from a linked CGM account, along with any notes or events added in the app. This is health information; it is stored on our server and the dashboard requires an access token to read.
Passwords are never stored in plain text. Tool photos you upload to Toolshare are stored on our hosting server and are visible to friends you've connected with in the app. Confidence Pool sheet photos are not stored at all.
Apps not listed here — including Cribbage, Sign Spotter, and Pomodoro — don't send anything to our server beyond the anonymous page-view count described below.
Page-view counts
Every page on davenn.com sends one anonymous page-view count to our own server when it loads, so we can see which apps get used. It records the page, the hour, the website that linked you here (the domain only, never the full address), whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer, your browser and operating system family (for example "Safari" and "iOS"), whether the app was opened as an installed app, its light or dark theme, your browser's language, and an approximate location — city, region and country.
The location is looked up from your IP address at the moment of the visit, using a database stored on our own server, so your IP address is never sent to anyone else. Your IP address is not stored. To count unique visitors without cookies, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address, your browser, and a random value that is replaced and discarded every day. It can't be turned back into an IP address, and it can't link your visits from one day to the next. Individual page views are deleted after 90 days and only daily totals are kept.
No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. The count is skipped entirely if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Location data is GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.
Third-party services we use
- Twilio — carries the SMS update notifications we send, and the Confidence Pool messages sent to and from the pool's number. For the pool, that means Twilio also handles photos you text in and the number you sent them from.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — photos and PDFs are sent to Anthropic's API to be read: tool name and brand for Toolshare's auto-identify, matchups, marks and confidence numbers for Confidence Pool sheets, and runners, schools and times for WildcatsXC results PDFs. These files are not retained by Anthropic beyond processing the request, and are not used to train its models.
- ESPN — the Confidence Pool reads live NFL scores from ESPN's public scoreboard, and team logos load in your browser directly from ESPN's image servers, which means ESPN can see your IP address when you view the scoreboard. No account or pool information is sent to ESPN.
- GoDaddy — our web host and database provider for davenn.com.
We don't use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies anywhere on this site. The page-view counts above are kept on our own server and never shared.
Local storage
Some apps (Pomodoro, Daily Tasks, Track Timer, and others) save your in-progress session or theme preference in your browser's local storage so it survives a page refresh. This data never leaves your device and isn't something we can see or access.
Data removal
To remove your update-notification contact info, use the unsubscribe link/reply included in any message we send, or email us at the address below. To delete a Toolshare or Flight Tracker account, or remove a leaderboard entry, contact us and we'll take care of it.
For the Confidence Pool, press and hold a name in the standings to delete that sheet and its picks. There is no photo to remove — the image was never kept. Replying STOP to the pool's number stops all replies to you and unlinks your phone number from the pool.
